Collins Defends Pentagon Report on Gays in Military

Some of the country's top military brass are asking Congress to overturn "Don't Ask Don't Tell," the ban that keeps gays and lesbians from openly serving in the armed forces. But GOP leaders say they will block any legislation unless it pertains to tax cuts and government spending. So Democrats are pinning their hopes on Republicans, such as Maine's two senators, who have voted with them on social issues.
